One of the great things I love about Australia is all of the holidays that we get on the Easter Weekend. On Easter Saturday, we took the kids up to Ipswich to look at the great FREE Zoo and Japanese Gardens. The kids enjoyed seeing the native animals, especially the cute little Bilby's running around in the habitat in the dark. We then walked over the the Japanese Gardens. The grass is so soft and the kids all wanted to lay down on it. It didn't take long for the kids to start jumping around, shouting and not being peaceful and tranquil at all.
Oh well, we tried!!
I recently attended a 'Learning Circle' evening about traditions. We talked about what new traditions we wanted to start in our family. It reminded me of one of my favourite traditions growing up. Birthday cakes. Each of us 4 children would pour over the Australian Women's Weekly Cake Book to decide what cake we would have that year.
Time moves so quickly these days. I'm sure the world must be spinning quicker, because I can't believe it is almost Easter 2013. 1st Term is almost over for school and I have to start thinking about Easter Egg hunts and all that fun stuff. This year has seen Eryn continue on at High School, Lachlan enjoying his final year at Primary school, Morgan settling in to Year 2 and Addison still enjoying being at home with Mum. No overseas travels lately, but Dan and I are both quickly approaching the big 40! I am back at University again and trying to stay motivated. Here is life lately according to my iPhone.
Life has included:
- First Dances
- Braces
- Rascall Flats concerts
- Remembering 2 years since Mum passed away
