Learning to Ride

Last weekend I took the younger kids out to the park so that Morgan could get some riding practice. She is coming along really well with her riding skills, and will be hitting the pavement in no time!

Winter has arrived!

Winter has definitely arrived in Sydney. We have had the heat on at home all the time and we now cannot go out of the house without rugging up. With winter, also comes the school athletics carnivals. Morgan and Lachlan had theirs on Tuesday and Eryn's was on Wednesday. It was so cold during Morgans carnival that I'm sure she was turning blue at one point. Morgan came 2nd in her 70metre dash.

Lachlan came 2nd in his 100 and 200m heat, but failed to place in the final. Lachlan prefers longer distances, so he wasn't too upset. Eryn's great accomplishment was showing up to her school athletics carnival. This was mainly because the girls were told they would have to present a Medical Certificate if they didn't come. Unfortunately she didn't place in any races, but told me she enjoyed the hot meat pie from the canteen best of all!!!

This weekend is a long weekend, and we spent Saturday keeping warm at home. We also ventured out to see the Royal Botantic Gardens. We walked around and enjoyed the scenery and even sat at Mrs Macquaries Chair. A place that I visited on one of our trips to Sydney when I was younger. A lovely afternoon was cut short when it started pouring with rain. We had to make a run for it and safely made it to some cover underneath the Sydney Opera House. After making a toilet stop, we decided that the Opera House has the nicest toilets we've seen so far.

We are just so lucky to be in a warm house during this winter season. It definitely makes the winter not seem so bad when you are tucked up in your warm home.

Happy Birthday to Me

Yesterday was my birthday. Another year older and closer to the big 4-0! Dan arrived home just in time from his trip to spoil me. And to top of a lovely relaxing day he took me to dinner at the Sydney 360 Restaurant. This restaurant is on the top of the Sydney Tower and slowly revolves around so that you get to see the view of the whole city during your meal. The food was delicious, except for dessert as I chose something unfamiliar which tasted awful. But Dan kindly let me eat his Creme Brulee.

The view was fantastic, but I did feel a little giddy after we had finished. After we had taken the very fast lift all the way back down to the ground I realised that we had no photo's to show our great night. So I took this one in the lift going down to the car park. Better late than never!

Little Princess and Princes

Dan returned home from his trip to the USA yesterday. He spent almost two weeks attending a work conference, catching up with friends and family and hopefully having a chance to relax from work! The kids and I went to the airport to pick him up, but since we've never picked anyone from the Sydney International Airport, he missed us as he came out - so we didn't even get to welcome him through the arrival gates.

Before he left, he took my camera. I had a look through ALL the photo's that he took. There were only a few of these little princes!!

Dan brought home some lovely presents from his trip including a cute little tutu for Addi. (Thanks Callie) She won't take it off. Addison is the most girly of any of my girls. She loves to carry around a handbag, put on shoes or even a tutu. She looked like a little princess running around in this today. I couldn't resist the chance to capture that cuteness.
