Well, I'm not sure if I want to say the next sentence incase it will jinx me, but I don't remember a long weekend as good as this one. We are so fortunate in Australia to get to enjoy a 4 day weekend. This year it started on Thursday, when I managed to cram in getting my hair coloured, a movie and a School Easter Hat Parade, all before lunch. That evening, Dan and I joined my family in a wonderful night at the Brisbane Australia Temple. On Friday, we spent time dying boiled eggs with my sister-in-law. Thanks for organising that Callie. Morgan managed to stick her fingers in the pink dye and it took 2 days to come off. That afternoon we visited Roma Street Parklands, which was heaps of fun. We fantasised about having such wonderful manicured gardens in our own back yard!! Then Saturday we went to Mt Cootha lookout for breakfast, followed by working in the yard to get ready for the move followed by a delicious BBQ dinner. On Sunday, the kids and I got in an early session of church followed by a trip up to Bestbrook Resort to visit the kids cousins while they were camping. We got to get all muddy, fall in a little creek, experience camping toilets and get the smoke smell all overs us, and then go home to shower off and sleep in our own beds. We also enjoyed a great dinner at my mums. The kids enjoyed an Easter egg hunt aswell. My mum was feeling really good at dinner and having everyone around was just wonderful. Today we ventured over to St Helena Island. An old penal colony in Moreton Bay. The weather was fantastic, the walk long, but I really enjoyed learning about the history and spending time with family. We have a relative who was killed by a prisoner there, while he was working as a warder, so it made it a little more connected for us. I can't believe we packed so much in to this weekend.
