I survived Moving House!

I am currently enjoying another long weekend. Tomorrow the kids will be back at school and the sucession of long weekends will almost be over. Over this long weekend we managed to put almost all of the boxes and their contents into a space to call home. We have spent the last week and a half moving house. It involved all the fun stuff of packing, getting up at wee hours of the morning to continue to pack and then somehow managing to still send the kids to school each day with everything, while all the craziness was going on. During this packing stage my husband headed off to Sydney for work again, with the words, 'see you on Friday night and organise a ute for Saturday so that we can move everything'. Just the thought of one small ute to move all our belongings seemed unachievable. So, thinking that I could rescue the day, I organised a removalist and my good old dad showed up (didn't ask him, but he must of known that I couldn't take down all the beds by myself and pack and get the phone connected all in the space of a few hours). After the move was over, I still didn't let on to my husband, who got a great surprise on Friday night. All I can say is, I'm glad it's over. We are really enjoying the new house and all of the renovations that I organised before we moved in have made it look even better. I'm still saving my penny's so that we can finish of the bathrooms and the rest of the kitchen should be in within the month. We spent 5 years at our last house and during that time we made a lot of changes to it aswell. As I did the final check of our old house before handing in the keys, I thought it was funny that about 3 years ago we revamped the back garden and planted some beautiful mock orange and birds of paradise. Well wouldn't you know that the birds of paradise never did flower until - you guessed it - last week. Here is a picture of the one flower I got during those 5 years.

Well done Leah and congratulations. You are a very resourceful person and I am sure Dan would have really appreciated the efforts you went to. Hope you can put your feet up and relax a little...
