USA Trip - New York

On the 24th of September, Dan, Morgan and I set off on our Qantas plane - all set to visit New York, Upstate New York LDS Church Sites and my brother Andrew and his family in Houston Texas. Despite the flight over being uncomfortable, long and by the time I got there, lacking in sleep, we arrived safely in New York City. We overcame a small hurdle of leaving my bag with passports, credit cards etc in the cab, but thankfully he came back. Our Hotel (Doubletree Hilton) in Jersey City (a 10 minute train ride from Manhattan) was fantastic and after a good nights sleep we set out to see New York. We caught a Tourist Double Decker bus over the next few days and took in the sites of Downtown and Uptown Manhattan, including: Brooklyn, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (which due to rain there was 0% visibility) Times Square, Central Park, American Museum of Natural History (from the movie'Night at the Museum'), Manhattan Temple, The American Girl shop (a big hits for Mums and their daughters) Trump Tower, Tiffany's on 5th Avenue and ofcourse the Manhattan subway. The highlights for me were a Carriage ride around Central Park, (I would love to have seen all of the Park!), seeing the Broadway Play 'Wicked', the street view of Times Square (it is so colourful and busy) and visiting the Deaf Branch of Church in New York.
