Awards and Races across Country

During this last week, I have been able to witness Lachlan and Eryn recieve recognition for their different achievements at school and in the community. Last week Eryn completed the Bronze Medal Achievements for Flute at school. This means that she completed all the requirements of the 'Red' Book and now moves on to the 'Blue' book!! Lachlan had his Carnival and Presentation night for Soccer last night. Lachlan has been playing since he was 5, but unfortunately this Event has always fallen on a Sunday, so he has never been. But in Under 9's it was on a Monday, so he was sooo excited. However, it poured rain on Sunday and Monday morning, so only the Presentation was on. (That is why he does not look happy in his photo!!) The Senior Cross Country was on today at school. Lachlan isn't tall, isn't great at short distance - but he has Fantastic endurance! He came second. I felt quite emotional as I watched my little boy barely keeping up in the first part of the race, but once that initial sprint was over - he was coming second all the way. I'm just soo proud. Eryn (not really Loving running) was told by the sports teacher to 'not be an old granny and walk the whole way!' Her distance was a lot further than Lachlan's and I cheered her on. She came 33rd. (I think out of about 60) Well done Eryn!
