Counting my Blessings

I am an avid Blog reader. I love getting a glimpse into other peoples lives. Tonight while reading one of my fav's NieNieDialogues it gave a link to a family who just lost their daughter to a drowning. I was so touched by how the mum spoke about her daughter and made my heart rush straight to thoughts of my own four wonderful children. How often I forget to take the time to watch them, play with them, compliment them and just appreciate and love them for who they are. I know I don't usually get very 'touchy feely' on my blog, but I really am grateful for my beautiful children.

Addison is my baby. Those two dimples in her cheeks reflect her sweet nature. Always smiling and so happy. I know she is only 1, but I see this calm, happy personality in her. I think I love spending time with her, because she always gives back. Whether it is snuggling up to you, or tilting her head to touch yours, she lets you know she loves you in her own way. I can't wait to hear her speak, walk and join in with the older children. She really is a joyful baby.

Eryn with her kind heart, with a book almost glued to her, she has a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is well beyond her years. She gives everything 110%. Never giving up. I see this in her school work, her flute playing and even the Vegetable garden that she is growing at the moment. Constantly looking for ways to do her best. At times I am jealous of how accomplished she is for her age. Not in an unkind way, but because I would have loved to have been her!

Lachlan is my junior Prince Charming. Always looking out for the child at school who doesn't have any lunch. Or cleaning up the house when I'm not looking (And doing a really good job of it too!) I know he would have loved some more brothers, but I hope that his sisters are having a wonderful effect on him. He loves to cook, to ride his bike and play sport. And especially to laugh. Sometimes he will tell a story and is laughing so much that he can't finish it. He is a lot of fun.

Morgan is my little girl with the curl. No one in the family wakes up happier. With hugs, beautiful manners and just wanting to be up close to you. Her beautiful tanned skin, that only takes a glimpse of the summer sun to start going golden brown, suits her well, since she loves the water. Summer hasn't hit yet and I already know that she will live in the pool! She loves to be around people and isn't scared to talk to people she doesn't know. In our recent Bathroom renovations, she was the only one of our kids to have long conversations with the tiler. She gives everything a go and I love that about her.

I hope I can constantly take stock and remind myself of the growth my children make, and the special children that they are to me.
