For Family Home Evening last night we all sat down and watched the final for Junior masterchef. (I said all, but Morgan came home from school yesterday with itches all over her body. They now cover her whole torso, the doctor said we will never know if it was a reaction to a virus or something she touched, so she was in bed dosed up on drugs.) All of my kids have absolutely loved watching this series, even joining in on the cook-off last Friday night when we made Self saucing choc hazelnut pudding with chantilly cream and orange candied dressing. It was delicious by the way!
Well after over two hours of challenges, the winner was....Isabella. We will all be sad that it is over, but one of the biggest things as a parent that I have taken from this program is the kids who really excelled have been the ones who have been encouraged/tutored by their mothers/grandmothers as they have grown up. Cooking for them has just been something they have always done with mum or the their wonderful Italian grandmothers!! I hope this will inspire me to not only improve my cooking skills, but to always include my kids in the world of cooking. Last night we also enjoyed celebrating Lachlan's birthday with the cake made by Grandpa. He is still continuing the wonderful tradition. Thanks Dad, another great cake.

Makes us want to come back for dinner at your place. We can't get the series here and it is not on iTunes to buy. Did you record it at all?
