This morning I checked my email and recieved some good and bad news. The bad news read like this " Unfortunately, we were unable to accommodate your request(s) for this ticket reservation window due to overwhelming demand. We will email you if more tickets become available for these tapings of The Oprah Show in Sydney, Australia."
Yes, you read right. I didn't win in the lottery to get tickets to one of Oprah's shows in Sydney next month. But I'm sure all the other hundreds of thousands of other people didn't either!!
Then I got some really good news. It read like this " Dear Leah, Family tree posted to you today .Regards to you all , Audrey Haslock"
For those of you who know, I have been working on my husbands, mothers family history since we got married. He had done a little bit, and then it has been my project for some 13+ years now. Two weeks ago, I decided that I needed to go back from the start and just recheck everything I had done, and put it in a folder so that if anything ever happened to me, people could find my information. While doing this, I remembered that my sister-in-law had some cousins as her 'friends' on her Facebook list. Even though I'd never met them I sent the two of them a message asking them some basic information. From that one friend request, I was sent on a trail that led me to a woman (a relative somewhere on the family tree) who has researched back to the 1600's. She told me that since she had so much, she would just post it to me. Needless to say, I am sooooo excited. Sometimes I feel like there is so much to do and I am the only one doing anything. But it is definitely nice, when you find some extra help along the way. Now I just can't wait till that package arrives!
